I don’t really have the words to describe it, but I can just tell how deeply he feels secure, safe and loved when he’s in your arms nursing. That feeling of all is right in the world radiates from him.
Very beautiful. I love that the lactation nurse and other moms were there to offer advice, support, and encouragement. In the end you figure out what works for you and your baby just like those Titi moms. However it helps to have that support from giving people just as you are giving and supporting by writing this beautiful story. I’m very happy that you‘ve followed your own path rather than society choosing it for you or influencing your decisions. While it’s not always easy you will cherish these times forever.
Oh, this is awesome! I think the less than rosey side of childbirth and pregnancy would be a valuable thing to read. I know I would appreciate it, being someone who is staring down that reality in the next few years. Keep it coming!
One of the perinatal health classes I teach is breast-feeding and I always say what you’ve said about reading all the things… It’s all just words until you’re actually in it!
I also had no idea that monkey‘s farewell, breast-feeding and I learned so much from you. Thank you for sharing and making these connections with a sweet little creatures🐒
